Is Your Fire Safety Risk Assessment Up To Date?

Part 3 of the Fire (Scotland) Act 2005, as amended, and the Fire Safety (Scotland) Regulations 2006, requires the responsible person to carry out a fire safety risk assessment, implement appropriate fire precautionary and protection measures and maintain a fire management plan.

Your Fire Safety Risk Assessment should be reviewed following any change in premises, processes or the number of people employed, or if you've had a near miss or an actual fire. It is also good practice to review it at intervals not exceeding 12 months.

Benefits of a Fire Risk Assessment to your business

You can reduce exposure to the threat of fire by protecting both employees and your business. The consequences of not doing so can lead to prosecution, leave a business vulnerable and result in disruption and financial loss.
